1. How will I get charged for changes to my website?

Our basic charges are kept as simple as possible. We charge for most services by the hour at a rate of $75 /hour for constructive services. Constructive services are those services that are started from scratch, ex: designing a logo or creating a custom website page design, business cards etc.. 2. What can I expect from a webhost?

A good webhost is one that provides reliable hosting of your website. A website can contain less than a dozen to several hundred pages. You want to be sure that the host you trust with your website files will be maintaining its facility so your web page is available to your viewers/potential customers 24 hours a day, without problem.BACK TO TOP

3. How much customization features are available to me?

You may use your imagination as far as customizing your website. Bare in mind that any adjustments you make must be tasteful if you are going to portray a professional image. It is always important to realise that your first impression is of paramount importance especially in the online world. A simple problem with a page that loads too slowly and you may alienate a potential customer. He'll leave your site and go elsewhere.BACK TO TOP

4. Where would I get ideas for content?

We can help you with writing content for your site as well as research, however it will be more cost effective for you to do your own research. We can provide you with guidelines to help you target your audience better though. Good content writers can often come at a premium, but depending on the nature of your site we may be able to help you develop the content from the ground up. 5. Are there templates that I can choose from?

Some templates we can get for free, but there are limits to customization and the use of those templates. Generally prices vary for commercial templates, and they can range anywhere from $20 to over $100. The flashier, the pricier. We can build your site around a template and do customizations for you to better portray your company's image. A pre-existing template is a good way to go if you have a limited budget and need a site up in a hurry. BACK TO TOP

6. Do I own my domain name?

The domain name is registered in your name or your company's name and you are free to transfer domains to different hosts if you purchased them separately. It is always advisable to purchase your domain name apart from your hosting company. In the unfortunate event that you have to change your host you will be able move your site with less hassle. You may receive a free domain name when signing up for any one of our packages, although you will need to take a quick survey on our site. 7. What happens if my domain name expires?

Most reputable domain name registrars often have a grace period of a month or so before the name is put up for grabs. During that time you may still be able to salvage your domain. Your domain is one of the most important components of your website and it is a good practice to allow automatic renewal. All these factors are dependant on your registrar and they each have their own policy. BACK TO TOP

8. Do you sell web hosting?

We do not sell web hosting ourselves as our focus is on the development of websites only, but we do have a few good recommendations for good website hosts. They will only be those that we have personally used and tested ourselves, with success. In this arena like most other things, you get what you pay for. Plan this step carefully and do your homework before committing. You can save yourself the publishing and testing fee of $99.00 if you choose to go with our partner hosting company. 9. Do you work on existing websites?

Preferably not, although we offer optimisation services for existing sites. It mostly depends on the application language used (if any) and if there are underlying databases. Each situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Our primary focus is on developing new sites for new start-up businesses. We can discuss this further during our consultation.BACK TO TOP

10. Can I know how much my website will cost me upfront?

We can roughly estimate the total cost but we generally require 50% or $200 deposit, up-front, which ever is greater. Other fees such as research and some graphic design may fluctuate depending on the level of customization you require. BACK TO TOP

11. Do you provide photography of my product catalogue/items I need photographed?

Most live photography will have to be done by a professional outside contractor. We generally prefer to source photographs from online resources but for your custom product catalogs, live photography would be the way to go. If we perform the photography in-house, transportation fees as well as various raw image creation fees will apply.BACK TO TOP

12. How can I check the status of my website?

You will have constant involvment in the development of your site through each phase of development. Usually we create a mock-site for simple navigation and dummy text and tweak your color scheme and basic graphics until we have the structure. Prior to each stage you will be able approve or dissapprove modifications ensuring that your final product meets your expectations. BACK TO TOP

13. What do I need to provide before work on my website begins?

Determine your target market. You will need to know what you expect from the site. Planning the structure, gathering images, choosing color schemes and layout style is initially a good place to start, although we can help you with this during consultation. Also an important factor is to determine whether or not you'll want the site to be dynamically driven or not.BACK TO TOP

14. Can I maintain my own website?

In a word, yes. A dynamically driven content management site with a good interface may be very easy to maintain without needing to know much html, if any. However static sites are generally more labor intensive. We obviously wish that you would allow us to maintain the upkeep of your site but you are certainly free to explore other options. We help that process by supplying links and resources to aid you in your venture, however you may save some money but sacrifice time instead.BACK TO TOP
